Background

Dr. Keith Hurvitz is a native of Southern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated with Honors. He then moved across town to complete his medical education at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Medicine. He graduated from medical school with Highest Distinction at the top of his class, earned the prestigious Dean’s Scholar award, and was admitted into the coveted Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society.

After completing medical school, he was accepted into the highly sought after Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency program at USC. This five year surgical residency program exposed him to the multiple facets of facial surgery. Dr. Hurvitz decided early on to focus his efforts on perfecting his techniques in nasal surgery (rhinoplasty/septorhinoplasty), facelift surgery (rhytidectomy), and eyelid lifting surgery (blepharoplasty). With respect to rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty surgery alone, Dr. Hurvitz had completed hundreds of nasal surgeries by the time he finished his residency at USC.

After completing his Otolaryngology residency Dr. Hurvitz was accepted into a highly competitive 3 year General Plastic Surgery residency program at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Medical Center. While there, he broadened his skills in surgery to encompass full body plastic surgery. In addition to becoming proficient in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, he also learned the skills of body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, and body lifting. He has since published peer reviewed papers on both the topics of abdominoplasty and liposuction. While still at UCI, he worked closely with many experts in the field of Plastic Surgery, including one of the world’s most renowned rhinoplasty surgeons.

Ask The Doctor

Although there is no substitute for a face-to-face consultation, we can often help determine whether you are a suitable candidate for a specific plastic surgery procedure by viewing your photos, and, in many situations, will be able to provide a preliminary estimate. Please note these are estimates only and may change after the provider evaluates you in person.

It is important that you send us images of sufficient quality so that we can adequately assess your cosmetic concerns.

General Photo Taking Guidelines

  • Have another person take your photos or use a camera timer. We do not accept selfies (handheld or on a selfie stick) as they are taken from too close of a distance that often distorts proportions.
  • Use a solid color background without any objects (a plain wall works great).
  • For face/neck, make sure eyeglasses are off and hair is pulled away from the face as much as possible.
  • Orient the camera vertically so that the framed picture is a vertical rectangle (higher up/down than side/side) instead of a horizontal rectangle.
  • Take photos facing the camera straight-on, at 45-degrees (3/4 view), 90-degrees (side-view), and for liposuction with your back facing the camera.
  • For Rhinoplasty, the bottom of the nose (view of the nostrils) is an important angle.
  • (Optional) For breast augmentation, lift, or reduction, please send us your under breast measurement.
  • (Optional) For liposuction or abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), please send us a measurement of your waist and hips.

Detailed instructions specifically for face/neck photos can be found on our website HERE.
