Surgical Assistant / Surgical Technologist

Established Plastic Surgery Center in Bellevue, WA is seeking an energetic, experienced Surgical Assistant for our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The Surgical Assistant will work as part of a team and engage in a range of tasks essential to the successful and smooth operations of the surgical center. The ability to take initiative is a must. If you are a self-starter who can tackle a variety of tasks with little to no direction then we’re looking for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Surgical Duties

  • First assist in surgery (face lifts, rhinoplasty, breast surgery, etc.)
  • Manage flow of Operating Room
  • Room patients, obtain consents, etc.
  • Monitor timing of current case
  • Call patients to arrive earlier/later if needed
  • Circulate
  • Assist with recovery

Process / sterilize surgical instruments

Communication

  • Provide Anesthetists with all pertinent patient information for upcoming surgeries
  • Call patients to confirm surgery check-in times
  • Provide pre-operative instructions, as needed
  • Post-operative care and discharge
  • Breast implant follow-ups

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory usage and obsolescence
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Periodic evaluation of vendors to ensure best prices

Clerical

  • Scanning of ASC packets after checking for completeness
  • Log input for ASC, Implants, etc.
  • Execute medical record requests
  • ASC Meeting agenda and meeting minutes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Washington State MA, HCA, or CST License
  • Minimum 1-year experience, preferably 2+ years
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking
  • Experience with electronic health records and other technologies necessary for the clinic setting
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with little direction

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 4x10
  • Day shift
  • No weekends
